Only love can bring the rain that makes you yearn to the sky,
Only love can bring the rain that falls like tears from on high...
Love, reign o'er me...
It rained on me, lightly, as I walked back from my sweetness' house last night, but that was OK. For the first time in several weeks, I felt happy.
I got to see and play with Hannah, and got hugs and kisses, and that was before I'd given her her belated birthday gifts. She really loved the plush emperor penguin chick, even taking it to bed with her.
Seeing Gina, of course, was even better. We ended up not ordering sushi, and dined on tortilla chips and salsa and Ben & Jerry's instead, but somehow I really didn't mind at all. We watched "Raising Helen," a fun little movie, and some of the 10 o'clock news, which was not nearly as much fun. I gave her a plush penguin, too, a little rockhopper whose blond hair might remind her of mine. I'd picked the birds up at the New England Aquarium last month...
It was nice just to be sitting on the same couch as my honey again, and kissing her fingers. We haven't seen much of each other lately, and I've missed her terribly, but smooching with her last night made everything better. We still love each other, and knowing that helps me go on.
I was trained and tested on MediNotes Charting Plus electronic medical records software last month, with two of my co-workers. Ken and I are now certified to provide technical support for the software. Exciting, isn't it? ;) Now let's see if I stick with this job...
I'm finally utilizing that wonderful resource, Lyndhurst's public library, and reading stuff I'd probably never think to buy. Catching up on some Stephen King, perused some wonderful short stories by H.G. Wells... and right now I'm immersed in the works of Voltaire. Very cool.
Well, Thanksgiving is just past (spent it with my family, and watched "Cidade de Deus (City of God)," a powerful Brazilian film, with them), and now Christmas (gulp) is rushing towards us. I started my shopping early this year, in September. I'm about half done now, after having placed and received a few orders; I went to Costco and Barnes & Noble Saturday to pick up some more gifts, and took a stroll through Nutley's park system on my way home. Saw some elder gents playing bocce ball...
Guess I'll see you all next year. Enjoy the holidays...!
